Be at ease in your body and mind

Our teaching style at Lindsay Jay Fitness is Vinyasa Flow, which links conscious movement with breath awareness. The breath leads the body from one pose to the next, creating meditation in motion. ‘Yoga’ is derived from the sacred Sanskrit language of India. It means the union of mind, body and breath; the union of inner with outer consciousness, spirit and matter.

Life today goes at a hectic pace, and the resulting high levels of stress can lead to mental and physical health problems. Yoga is a unique form of exercise, focusing not only on the body but also on the mind and spirit. It can help you attain physical and mental wellbeing, enabling you to achieve a more positive and balanced life. There is simply no other discipline quite like it.

Yoga is a practice, not an outcome. Lindsay and Ivor, who is her partner in Yoga and partner in life, love to travel and study to enrich their knowledge and passion for this 5,000 year old discipline, applying what they learn to their teaching. Lindsay, Ivor and the team use a blend of the many different styles of yoga including elements of of Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, Core Power and Freestyle Fitness Yoga in their classes.

Lindsay says “team teaching with someone who knows and gets your style of yoga so well is fabulous, it adds so much to the experience for the participants in the class as they get so much more attention. Ivor is very strong and I am very soft so everyone is lucky to get a bit of both.
